Fist off, what is cosplay? After you're done reading, let me tell you why I think it's one of the best things ever on this Earth.

Cosplay is an art form, which allows us in the real world to bring to life our favorite characters from TV, fiction, anime, and video games. It's an intense world where details can make or break an outfit or illusion. The most dedicated cosplayers usually make their outfits from scratch yards of fabric, a sewing needle, and top notch know-how. Some are wizards at closet cosplay and throw together fantastic outfits from whatever they find in their house or at thrift stores and the like. You can also commision quality cosplays for the right price if your sewing isn't the best.

But how you get it doesn't matter. As long as you have fun and show respect for others you're guaranteed to have an excellent time with other like-minded people.

Cosplay also opens new worlds for characters from many series to interact with each other? Have you ever wanted to see Mario fighting off Sephiroth? Perhaps scoping a peek at Iron Man chatting with Phillip Fry? Maybe play a few rounds of Street Fighter with Ryu himself? Cosplay makes magic happen, and you can be part of it, too. Even if you don't cosplay you can still see your favorite characters parading around and maybe take a photo op as well!

I urge you to go to a convention sometime. Everyone has a great time, and there's plenty of gems to be found in the halls, dealers rooms, and art exhibits. Seriously, the hate cosplay gets is undeserving. It is not childish, foolish, or dumb. It's a form of expression and a way to have a great time.

There's not much else to say. I had an awesome time. I wish to attend another con soon, pending schedules and funding. I absolutely love ACen and everything it offers, but sadly it will not happen again until next year. But for now I leave you with this annnouncement.
